Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye returns from injury ahead of new season
Suer Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has returned to training at Serie A club Udinese after a short injury layoff.
Okoye sustained a shoulder injury during Udinese’s training camp in Austria last month. The Nigeria international has now returned to full team training after completing his rehabilitation program under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.
The shot-stopper has yet to feature in any of the Zebras’ pre-season friendlies due to the injury.
Okoye is not expected to feature in the Serie A club’s upcoming friendlies against Barcelona and Nottingham Forest. The decision is intended to give him enough time to regain full match fitness and avoid any physical setback.
The 26-year-old is expected to be ready for Udinese’s first game of the season against Padova on Saturday, 15 August, in the first round of the Coppa Italia.
