FULL LIST: NANS Names 39 Institutions Yet To Refund NELFUND Beneficiaries

• NANS says affected institutions have received NELFUND tuition payments but withheld refunds
• NANS publishes list to promote transparency and compel compliance
• Association urges immediate reimbursement for students who paid fees before loan disbursement

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has identified 39 tertiary institutions across the country that are yet to refund students who paid their tuition fees before the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) settled their school charges.

The list was released on Wednesday by the President of NANS, Akinteye Babatunde, in a statement posted on his official X account.

Babatunde said the institutions had already received tuition payments from NELFUND on behalf of eligible beneficiaries but had failed to refund students who made payments before the loan disbursements.

According to him, publishing the list is aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability and prompt payment of refunds to affected students.

“The following institutions have received NELFUND tuition payments on behalf of eligible students but are yet to refund students who had already paid their tuition fees before the NELFUND disbursement.

“This list is intended to promote transparency, accountability and to ensure that affected students receive the refunds due to them without further delay,” he said.

The institutions listed by NANS are:

• Federal University of Education, Pankshin
• Federal Polytechnic Nyak
• Plateau State University
• Federal Polytechnic Bauchi
• Imo State University
• Lagos State University of Education
• Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology

NANS called on the listed institutions to expedite the refund process, stressing that students who paid their tuition before NELFUND disbursements should not continue to bear unnecessary financial burdens.

The association added that the publication of the list is intended to strengthen accountability and ensure that all affected institutions comply promptly with the refund directive.
