FRSC promotes 7,472 personnel, to decorate new ranks

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the promotion of 7,472 personnel, comprising 2,134 officers and 5,338 marshals as part of efforts to strengthen its workforce and enhance operational effectiveness.
The affected personnel are to be decorated with their new ranks from Wednesday, August 26, to Friday, August 28, 2026, under the Corps’ Administrative Instruction on the Decoration of Newly Promoted Officers and Marshals.
The FRSC said the promotion was based on merit and was intended to recognise the dedication, competence, discipline, and years of service of personnel who had distinguished themselves in the discharge of their duties as stated in a statement signed by the corps spokesperson, Osondu Ohaeri on Friday in Abuja.
Heads of Departments, Corps Officers, Heads of Special Units, and Commanding Officers, have been directed to conduct the decoration ceremonies for personnel under their respective commands.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the promotion as both a reward for hard work and a call to greater responsibility, urging the newly promoted personnel to justify the confidence reposed in them through professionalism, accountability, and improved service delivery.
Mohammed said the strength of the FRSC was not measured only by its patrol vehicles, technology, and enforcement structures, but also by the quality, character, and commitment of its personnel.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers and marshals, urging them to regard their new ranks as increased responsibility rather than mere recognition.
According to him, every additional stripe, pip, or insignia carries higher expectations from the Corps, the Federal Government, and the Nigerian public.
He charged the newly promoted personnel to maintain discipline, treat members of the public with dignity, uphold the integrity of the Corps, and remain committed to the pursuit of safer roads.
The Corps Marshal said the promotion was also consistent with the FRSC’s human capital development strategy and efforts to build a professional, responsive, and performance driven institution capable of meeting the changing demands of road safety management in Nigeria.
The development comes as the Corps intensifies its operational, technological, and public enlightenment initiatives aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and improving compliance with traffic regulations nationwide.
The FRSC said a motivated and professionally developed workforce remained critical to sustaining these interventions and achieving measurable improvements in road safety outcomes.
The Corps congratulated the promoted personnel and urged them to approach their new responsibilities with renewed commitment and a stronger sense of duty to the nation.
