A fire incident was reported on Sunday, August 2, at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, prompting an emergency response by aviation authorities.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the development in a statement, adding that its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) was immediately mobilised to the scene to contain the outbreak and prevent it from spreading.

According to the authority, emergency personnel were actively battling the fire and working to ensure the safety of airport users and facilities within the terminal area.

FAAN assured the public that no deaths or injuries had been recorded as of the time of the announcement.

The Murtala Muhammed International Airport is Nigeria’s busiest aviation hub, handling thousands of domestic and international passengers daily.
