The federal government Sunday handed over 129 housing units to beneficiaries at the Nasarawa Technology Village in Karu, Nasarawa state, as part of efforts to expand access to affordable housing.
A press statement by the ministry’s director of Press and Public Relations, Badamasi Salisu Haiba, Monday, noted that the
Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Rabe Darma, who presented the keys to the beneficiaries, said the initiative was in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Housing Agenda.
It quotes Darma as saying that the administration was working towards making home ownership more accessible to Nigerians, adding that more housing units would be delivered before the end of December 2026.
“The Renewed Hope Housing Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu places housing at the heart of improving the lives of Nigerians. Today, we are handing over keys to 129 Nigerian families,” the statement quoted Drama as saying.
The housing project was funded by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and developed by Modern Shelter Systems and Services Limited through a Public-Private Partnership arrangement with the Nasarawa State government.
It said Darma reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to delivering 100,000 houses before the end of President Tinubu’s first term in office.
