Duru emerges Imo SDP performing chairman
The Social Democratic Party, SDP, Imo State chapter, has appointed Robinson Nwachukwu Duru as its performing chairman following a decision by the social gathering’s chairmen discussion board, comprising all LGA chairmen throughout the state’s 27 native authorities areas.
In a press assertion issued after a gathering held not too long ago in Owerri, the discussion board’s secretary, Anthony Opara, stated Duru’s appointment was necessitated by the way during which the previous State Executive Committee was managing the affairs of the social gathering.
He added that the lack of the State Working Committee, SWC, to supply efficient management prompted the discussion board to go a vote of no confidence in all its members over alleged gross incompetence.
Opara stated that, to fill the management vacuum, the discussion board unanimously appointed Duru, who was the social gathering chairman in Nkwerre LGA, as performing state chairman, whereas he was appointed performing secretary.
The SDP stated the brand new management had been mandated to supervise the affairs of the social gathering and reposition it for future political participation.
The discussion board additionally condemned what it described as anti-party actions, together with carrying the insignia of different political events to SDP conferences, warning that such conduct would now not be tolerated.
It urged members to stay dedicated, saying the social gathering was working to make sure that a reputable candidate emerged as its flag bearer within the subsequent governorship election within the state.
