Disturbing photos show aftermath of Russian drone boss's killing in car bomb attack

Gruesome photos showed a streak of blood splattered on the pavement following a car bombing that killed a Russian drone supplier Thursday

A car explosion outside the Russian city of Yekaterinburg killed a driver and seriously injured Vladimir Tkachuk, the leader of a defense company that makes “Ghoul” attack drones for the Russian military.

“The general director of Uraldronzavod, which produces Ghoul drones, Vladimir Tkachuk, was injured in a car explosion,” said Russian state news agency TASS, citing emergency personnel. “He is in intensive care in serious condition.”

The explosion happened in the Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia in the hamlet of Bolshoy Istok. According to the Russian Telegram group Mash, Tkachuk’s car was equipped with an explosive device.

Tkachuk was outside the car when it burst into flames, according to local source 66.RU, the driver was killed. It is still unknown exactly what caused the explosion.

According to TASS, Russian officials have initiated a criminal investigation on suspicion of attempted murder. No suspect or motive has been made public by Russian authorities.

Regarding the attack, Ukrainian authorities have remained silent.

In addition to being the creator and leader of Uraldronzavod, Tkachuk also manages the pro-war Telegram channel “Obsessed with War.”

Russian forces employ the inexpensive Ghoul family of FPV (first-person-view) attack drones from Uraldronzavod against Ukrainian soldiers and equipment on the front lines.

The incident occurred four days after Danil Peredriy, the son-in-law of Russian Aerospace Forces Commander Alexander Chaiko, was purportedly murdered in a different explosion at a Moscow restaurant.

It’s possible that Chaiko, who was apparently celebrating her birthday in private at the restaurant, was the target. There is no proof that the two explosions are related.
