Catholic Priest Father Sandro Ferretto quits ministry and marries African woman in grand ceremony (video)

An Italian-born former Catholic priest has given up his religious calling to marry a Kenyan woman in a colourful traditional ceremony.
Father Sandro Ferretto once served as a Catholic parish priest in Kasiela and Mochongoi in Baringo County, Kenya.
It was reportedly while conducting mission work in the region that he met a young woman named Sharon Jepng’ok, a Tugen woman who is also the daughter of former councillor John Wendot.

The encounter blossomed into a romantic relationship and Father Sandro Ferretto stepped away from the priesthood to pursue the relationship and build a family.
He has now married Sandra in a traditional ceremony at Seretion Village in Kasiela, Baringo South.

Videos and photos from the wedding have gone viral in Kenya as people discuss the unusual trajectory of the couple’s story.
