The Family Trust Care Foundation, led by Chief Executive Officer Hajiya Zainab Jamil Gwamna, in partnership with the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, has donated 100 wheelchairs to support persons with disabilities in Gombe as part of a humanitarian effort to promote inclusion, dignity, and independent living. This was disclosed in a statement by Ibrahim Sani Shawai spokesperson to Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna. “This initiative is more than the distribution of mobility aids; it is about restoring hope, expanding opportunities, and ensuring that persons with disabilities can participate fully in the society,” Hajiya Zainab said. She explained that each wheelchair would improve access to education, healthcare, employment, and social participation, and reaffirmed the Foundation’s belief that meaningful progress depends on giving every member of society the chance to contribute and thrive. Hajiya Zainab also highlighted the Foundation’s wider humanitarian works, including medical outreaches, educational support, food relief, and empowerment programmes for women, young people, and persons with disabilities. The chief Executive officer of family Trust care Foundation also salutes the efforts of Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre for its long-standing work in rehabilitation, advocacy, skills acquisition, educational support, and community reintegration. “An inclusive society is one where no individual is left behind, and the needs of vulnerable groups must remain at the heart of policies and programmes for sustainable development,” she said while conveying Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna’s message of support. According to her, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna urged the beneficiaries to remain confident and determined, reminding them that disability should never define their potential, and that they are valued, respected, and full of promise. The event ended with the presentation of N5,000 each from Family Trust care Foundation to each of the beneficiaries for servicing the wheelchairs. The presentation brought together government representatives, development partners, community leaders, media practitioners, and beneficiaries, underscoring a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening disability inclusion.
