The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state has debunked a plan to substitute candidates who emerged victorious during the recent party primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The state APC chairman, Aliyu Bello, debunked the speculation being peddled in some quarters on Saturday, in Lafia, while distributing forms EC9 and EC13E to 24 state house Assembly candidates.

He clarified that there was no plan whatsoever to substitute any candidate, noting that no successful candidate was changed in Nasarawa state.

“No candidate has been changed; nobody has changed anybody. If anybody told you that he has been changed, let him bring evidence. It’s just speculation.

“You can’t substitute anybody because we gave them the form to fill based on the name submitted from the APC national secretariat, and their names will be uploaded based on that,” he said.

Bello also disclosed that the party was working towards setting up a reconciliation committee to reconcile aggrieved members and appealed to them to remain calm and work for the victory of the party.

“There are more opportunities that exist within government; there are many things on the table. The government is too large; by the time we form the government, we will look for them,” he assured.

“We will continue to appeal; it is only one person that will occupy a position of leadership at a particular time. Leadership comes from God; it is only God that makes leaders, not Aliyu Bello, not governor Abdullahi Sule and APC but God.”
