Bukky Wright Explains Disappearance From Nigeria, Expresses No Regrets
Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has finally revealed why she disappeared from Nigeria and the movie industry for years, and according to her, she’d make the same decision again without hesitation.
The actress, who recently returned to the spotlight, opened up during an interview with TV host Morayo Afolabi Brown, explaining that she relocated abroad to focus on raising her children.
“I left this country many years ago because of my children, and I will do it over and over again if I had to,” she said.
Bukky also used the opportunity to apologise to fans who had wondered why she left Nollywood without saying goodbye.
“At this point, I think I have to apologise. I am so sorry I left you guys without letting you know. Mama duty called,” she said.
The actress disclosed that she is officially back with a new cinema project titled Omatara Johnson.
She explained that she deliberately kept the film under wraps because she believes not every dream should be announced before it comes to life.

Her heartfelt revelation has sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians praising her for choosing motherhood over fame.
Fans also expressed excitement over her return, describing it as the comeback of one of Nollywood’s most respected and beloved actresses.
For many, Bukky Wright’s story is a reminder that sometimes stepping away from the spotlight is not the end of a career, it is simply a different chapter.
