Benue court remands woman for allegedly trafficking 13 girls to Ghana for pr0stitution

A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Makurdi, Benue State, has ordered the remand of a woman, Christiana Tengu Tsavkaha in Yaikyor prisons for alleged human trafficking.
The police charged her with conspiracy and human trafficking.
The Chief Magistrate adjourned the matter to October 29, for further mention.
Benue activist, Zege Orkwande, who confirmed the development in a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, said the suspect, also known as Christiana Angle, was arrested after an extended search.
According to statements attributed to the victims, the suspect allegedly trafficked 13 girls to Ghana for prostitution.
“You remember Christiana Terngu Tsavkaha, suspect of Human Trafficking? She was arrested after many days of search,” he wrote.
“Today, Benue State Police Command, Makurdi remanded her at Yaikyor prisons and the case adjourned to 29th October, 2026.
“According to the victims, “she trafficked 13 of them to Ghana for pr0stitution”.
