Argentina Come From Behind To Beat England 2-1, Book World Cup Final Match With Spain
Argentina cemented their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after coming from behind to defeat England 2-1 in a dramatic semi-final.
England took the lead in the 55th minute through Anthony Gordon, whose clinical finish put the Three Lions in control and within touching distance of a place in the final.
However, the defending champions responded in style. Enzo Fernández levelled the score in the 85th minute, shortly before Argentina completed the comeback with a stoppage-time goal by Lautaro Martínez to silence the England supporters and seal a memorable victory.
Lionel Scaloni’s side showed resilience after trailing for much of the contest, dominating the closing stages before finding the decisive goal to secure their place in Sunday’s final against Spain.
England, meanwhile, will now turn their attention to the third-place playoff against France after seeing their World Cup dream end in heartbreaking fashion.
