ADC Ekiti disowns report naming Eleka as state leader

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ekiti State Chapter, has dismissed as false and unauthorised a report circulating on social media claiming that former Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, had been adopted as the state leader of the party.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Rt. Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan, stated this in a public notice, saying neither the State Executive Committee, State Working Committee nor the Stakeholders Forum had adopted Eleka as the party’s state leader.

According to him, the position of State Leader is not recognised by the ADC Constitution, stressing that any leadership arrangement in the state must be subjected to due consultation, constitutional provisions and approval by the party’s national leadership.

The party also alleged that some individuals who collaborated with the opposition during the last governorship election compromised the efforts of ADC members, arguing that such individuals could not be presented as leaders of the party in the state.

The ADC urged its members, the general public and the party’s national secretariat to disregard the publication identifying Eleka as the state leader.
