2027: Presidency Confirms Shettima As Tinubu’s Running Mate
The presidency has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu has retained Vice President, Kashim Shettima as his running mate ahead of the 2027 general election.
NOP.NG reports that the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Social Media, Segun Dada, made this known in a post on his 𝕏 handle on Friday.
Dada shared a photo of Tinubu and Shettima together, stating that the duo will remain together till 2031.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, also confirmed the party’s decision to field President Tinubu and Shettima for the 2027 presidential race.
Yilwatda, in a statement released on Friday via his 𝕏 Account, said the decision represents the “collective resolve to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda and deepen the progress already being recorded across the country.”
He also confirmed that the nomination forms for Tinubu and Shettima were earlier presented to the party by the President’s Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, during a well-attended ceremony at the Continental Hotel, Abuja.
The APC National Chairman assured that the party remains focused on strengthening its grassroots support, consolidating the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda and working together to build a more prosperous, secure and inclusive Nigeria.
