2027 polls: IDAF backs Abba Yusuf, names Waiya grand patron

The APC Intellectual Door-to-Door Awareness and Mobilisation Forum (IDAF )has endorsed Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term, pledging to mobilise grassroots support for his administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The forum made its position known on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the commissioner’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, Adam Muhammad.

The chairman of the forum, Salisu Alhassan Dantata, said the group would take its awareness and mobilisation campaign to communities across Kano State.

He said the objective was to educate residents on the policies, programmes and achievements of the state government.

Dantata said the forum remained committed to supporting the administration’s Kano First agenda.

He added that the group would contribute to public awareness and grassroots mobilisation in support of the government’s development programmes.

During the visit, the forum also appointed Waiya as its Grand Patron.

Responding, Waiya commended the leadership and members of the forum for their initiative and commitment to grassroots engagement.

The commissioner assured the group that the Kano State Government was ready to work with it to promote public awareness and strengthen engagement with communities.

Waiya stressed the importance of collaboration and constructive communication in advancing the government’s objectives.

He also linked effective grassroots mobilisation to the success of the government ahead of the 2027 elections.

The forum comprises members drawn from academia, grassroots organisations and community engagement sectors.

It was established to promote intellectual engagement, public awareness and grassroots participation in governance and development across Kano State.
