2027: Peter Obi responds to calls for him to run with Atiku Abubakar

The Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress NDC, Peter Obi, has responded to calls for him to dump his presidential aspirations and run as Atiku’s Vice Presidential candidate in the 2027 presidential election.

Obi was on Arise TV this morning when he was asked if he would ever consider such an offer.

 ‘’If there is an opportunity, would you step down for Atiku Abubakar as vice president?” he was asked

Responding, Obi said

‘’I am a candidate representing a political party, and Atiku Abubakar is also a candidate representing a political party. Any alliance must be between parties, not between individuals. Atiku will not step down, and neither will I, because both of us have institutional support behind us, and it is only the collective that can come together to create any alliance, not me or Atiku”

The Presidential election is scheduled for January 16 2027.
