2027: Kano Gov Yusuf Meets NDC’s Senator Hanga in Abuja

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Friday received Senator Rufai Hanga of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in his office in Abuja.  

The meeting comes amid reports of ongoing defection talks involving key Kano politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senator Hanga is reportedly considering leaving the NDC after he lost out on the Kano Central Senatorial ticket, the deputy governorship slot, and was not considered for any major position by Rabiu Kwankwaso.

 Recall that Governor Yusuf had earlier this week received the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and a delegation of Kano State APC executive committee members at his residence.

Details of Friday’s closed-door meeting between Governor Yusuf and Senator Hanga could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
