2027: ‘I’ll Deliver Osun for Tinubu’ – Adeleke Reaffirms
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has insisted that his endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election remains firm, declaring he will not backtrack after pledging his support.
Speaking in Osogbo on Sunday while hosting APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru and other party leaders at the Government House, Adeleke recalled his earlier commitment to Tinubu during the National Assembly leadership contest.
He said he ensured Osun lawmakers aligned with Tinubu’s preferred candidates, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Tajudeen Abass, despite initial divisions.
“I don’t make empty promises; I don’t play games. That is not me, because I have the fear of God,” Adeleke stated, stressing that his word of support for Tinubu is unshakable.
Basiru, addressing journalists after the meeting, predicted Tinubu could secure up to 1.5 million votes in Osun in 2027, citing collaboration between the APC and Accord Party.
He praised Adeleke’s willingness to campaign actively for the President, noting that unity among stakeholders would be crucial for delivering victory.
The governor also urged Osun residents and political actors to put aside differences and work together for the state’s development, emphasizing peace and cooperation across party lines.
