The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed Dr. Nafi’u Sankara as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial District.
Sankara’s name was included in the final list of candidates published by INEC, formally affirming his candidacy for the forthcoming election.
The development has put to rest speculations and reports surrounding the PDP’s candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial District.
Reacting to the confirmation, the PDP Kano state chapter welcomed the development and urged party members and supporters in Kano Central to remain united and focused on the party’s campaign.
In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Ahmad Dauda Lawal, the party also called on its members and the general public to disregard any contrary information concerning Sankara’s candidature.
The PDP said it remained confident that unity, dedication and collective effort would strengthen its chances of securing victory and providing what it described as credible and effective representation for the people of Kano Central.
