The presidential candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Aare Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje, has assured Nigerians that his administration would prioritise economic recovery and tackle insecurity if elected in the 2027 general elections.

The assurance came as documents submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that Omo-Aje had formally declared his intention to contest the presidency on the platform of the Action Alliance.

In a statement made available to journalists, the AA presidential candidate said his administration would focus on policies that directly improve the lives of Nigerians through job creation, infrastructure development and stronger public institutions.

“An Action Alliance government will focus on economic recovery and bring an end to insecurity across Nigeria. Our priority will be policies that directly benefit ordinary Nigerians through job creation, infrastructure development and strengthening government institutions,” he said.

Omo-Aje said restoring security across the country would remain a top priority, stressing that sustainable economic growth could only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and stability.

The 71-year-old politician, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Action Alliance, emerged as the party’s presidential candidate through a consensus arrangement at its presidential primary in Abuja.

Party delegates unanimously endorsed his candidature in what party officials described as a peaceful and rancour-free exercise aimed at repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Omo-Aje, a businessman from Ede, Osun state, urged Nigerians to support the Action Alliance, expressing confidence that the party has the vision and leadership to build a more secure, united and prosperous country.
