Why I Broke My Grandmother’s Head With Pestle Until She Fainted -Adelu Ibukunoluwa Reveals
According to a recent video by Talk to B on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Adelu Ibukunoluwa has opened up about the traumatic childhood experiences that led her to violently attack her grandmother and flee their home naked.
In the interview, Adelu recounted growing up in a household where her older sister was clearly favoured by her father and grandmother. She was constantly told that her sister was loved more because she was “born with tears.”
“I would beg my dad and ask what I had done wrong,” she said. “He would reply, ‘You didn’t do anything to me. At least I pay your school fees,’ but it was never enough.”
The situation escalated when her grandmother repeatedly told her that she regretted allowing her father to take her back at age three. Adelu admitted: “What she said made me do what I did that night. I broke something on her head… I did it until she fainted.”
She fled the house naked, broke through the gate, and spent the night outside before her mother arrived the next day. Her father subsequently disowned her, forcing her to move in with her mother’s pastor. While living there, she became pregnant at 18.
Adelu, now 21, has endured further hardship, including alleged trafficking and exploitation in Saudi Arabia. She now lives with her daughter.
