Veteran Nollywood actress and producer Toyin Adewale, popularly known as Mimi and mother of music superstar Mayorkun, has revealed that she and her husband lived with her mother during the most difficult years of their early marriage, and credits her mother’s support as one of the key reasons their marriage survived that period.

On Talk to B.H., she said the arrangement made sense because as her mother’s only child, she could not turn her back on her. She said both her mother and her mother-in-law provided critical emotional and practical support while she and her husband were both building themselves.
