Update: In-laws finally vacate home of young widow after public outcry

The mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law of young widow, Tosin, who cried out after she was allegedly harassed and intimidated by her husband’s family eight days after his demise, have all vacated his home.

The mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law of a 28-year-old widow, Tosin, have vacated her matrimonial home following widespread public outrage over their alleged harassment and intimidation.

The exit of the relatives comes after human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu exposed the situation online. Gwamnishu confirmed that while the extended family members have packed out, Tosin’s father-in-law remains in police custody.

Tosin, 28, tragically lost her husband on July 20. According to reports, her late husband’s family immediately moved into the property just eight days after his demise.

They allegedly subjected the grieving mother to severe intimidation and fear. A video circulating online showed the family’s alleged actions, which prompted widespread condemnation from social media users.

Following the intense public outcry, the Lagos State Government intervened in the matter. Security forces moved in to arrest the father-in-law, which subsequently prompted the rest of the family members to flee the premises.

Gwamnishu later shared a video call with Tosin and her boys, confirming that they are safe. Watch below…
