Ukraine drone strikes set 'Russia's Amazon' Wildberries hubs ablaze
Ukraine struck major distribution facilities for “Russia’s Amazon” during overnight operations, representing the latest in a series of successful drone attacks penetrating deep into Vladimir Putin’s territory.
The devastating aerial strikes set ablaze Wildberries online marketplace warehouses in St. Petersburg and Crimea, a Ukrainian territory illegally occupied by Russia since 2014. An additional strike was documented in the Tver region during a widespread breakdown of Putin’s air defense systems, amid what has been the most intensive Ukrainian overnight assault of the conflict.
Significant flight disruptions affected St Petersburg as dark plumes of smoke billowed from the Wildberries facilities in Shushary and Utkina Zavod, potentially resulting in billions of pounds in losses, reports Daily Express UK.
The corporation, which processes 52% of all Russian online orders, halted its activities at these two distribution centers.
Video footage captured the Wildberries warehouse at Simferopol in Crimea consumed by flames after an attack.
The Wildberries facility in Tver was also damaged, raising the total number of hits on the online retailer to nine in recent days, with multiple sites completely demolished.
Volodymyr Zelensky stated previously that the company was selected as a target because, he alleges, it is being utilized to provide Russia’s armed forces with navigation equipment, drone components and other military supplies.
In a separate operation, Ukraine deployed its own Flamingo missiles to attack the critical defense facility Avitek in the Kirov region.
The sanctioned enterprise produces aviation technology, guided anti-aircraft missiles and various forms of military hardware. Concerns mounted over potential casualties among employees at the Kirov facility following reports that no evacuation warning had been issued prior to multiple explosions.
Numerous ambulances were reportedly racing to the struck manufacturing complex.
DON’T MISS:

Taking credit for the nighttime assault on Russian installations, the Ukrainian president posted on X: “Today, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck one of the key military enterprises in Russia’s Kirov. It supplies components for the occupier’s aircraft and missile systems, which are used, in particular, in the massive attacks against our cities and communities.”
“I thank our warriors for their precision. Our response is entirely justified,” he added.
The attack occurred 12 hours following Putin’s “emergency” security council session as he urgently attempted to increase weapons manufacturing at facilities such as Avitek for a conflict he declines to end despite the damage Ukraine is now causing to Russia.
