The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has mentioned it isn’t each time Nigerians speak about poverty and hardship that the Presidency points a press release condemning them as enemies of President Bola Tinubu.

Sanusi made the comment whereas urging Tinubu’s administration to hear extra to Nigerians.

He spoke on the Oxford Global Think Tank convention convened by Arunma Oteh, a former Director General of the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC.

According to Sanusi: “President Tinubu’s government needs to listen more, it’s not every time people talk about poverty and difficulty that you just issue a statement from the Villa and condemn them as enemies of the government or an attack on the president, that is not how to respond.

“I personally assume that by way of pulling again from the brink, coping with inflation, look we have been heading in the direction of hyperinflation.

“People want to know that we have been on the point of full financial collapse in 2023, it is one thing I’ve been saying since I used to be CBN governor and if we don’t tackle these points we’re going into disaster.
