Terrifying video shows men stuck inside train as savage Canada wildfire closes in
Crewmembers aboard a freight train in Ontario were in for a real fright when they got to work last night.
As of this morning, there are more than 830 wildfires burning throughout Canada, largely in west-central Ontario. The dystopian video captures the moment a train carrying workers and combustible materials was surrounded by a wildfire.
The clip was shared by lawmaker Sol Mamakwa and shows the massive flames near Armstrong, Ontario.
Terrified employees can be heard talking about what to do. “This could potentially overtake us here. This is getting a little scary,” one worker told the operator as the situation gradually grew more dire.
“Holy s—,” he then exclaimed as another man began to record the moment on his phone.
“Ok, y’all need to hurry up here. Like seriously, we’re encased in flames,” the man stated.
Another man inside the train became more frantic, begging, “This has got to move f—ing quicker.”
According to Superior North News, operations were halted after the wildfire swept through the region because Canadian National Railway trains were carrying combustible materials.
A spokesperson for the company shared with the local news outlet that the team was then evacuated from the trains overnight.
“While there is no immediate threat to public safety, emergency responders and railway officials are working together to assess conditions and support ongoing safety measures,” the Ontario Provincial Police stated.

Police also advised the public to steer clear of the area and refrain from entering the railway corridor while the fire continued to burn.
Of the 838 wildfires in Canada, 719 are considered to be out of control. 2.96 million acres of land have been burned in Canada this year alone. Reduced soil moisture and heightened drought conditions indicate that climate change is driving the increasing frequency and scale of Canada’s wildland fires.
