Troops of Operation Hadin Kai on Friday repelled coordinated attempts by terrorists to infiltrate several communities around Maiduguri, Borno State.

Acting Media Information Officer, Capt. Muhammad Goni, confirmed in a statement that the attacks targeted Muna Garage, Shuwari Village, and the Ajilari Cross area between 12:20 am and 2:30 am.

He explained that early warning systems enabled troops to detect the advancing fighters, who were then engaged with “accurate firepower from multiple axes,” forcing them to retreat in disarray.

In separate incidents, soldiers also thwarted infiltration attempts at Miringa and Dutsen Kura in Buratai. During pursuit operations, a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle triggered an improvised explosive device, but no casualties were recorded.
