Shettima’s re-nomination reflects competence, loyalty – Senator Katung

Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung, has described the re-nomination of Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election as a reflection of his competence, loyalty and commitment to national service.

In a statement, Katung congratulated the vice president on his re-nomination, describing the decision as a testament to the confidence President Tinubu reposes in his deputy.
He said Shettima had, over the past three years, demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda by providing steady support and valuable counsel in the administration of the country’s affairs.

The Senator said the vice president’s experience, strategic insight and contributions to governance, national unity and development made him deserving of another opportunity to serve alongside the president.

Katung also commended President Tinubu for retaining Shettima as his running mate, saying the decision would strengthen continuity, stability and purposeful leadership as the administration consolidates its economic reforms and security initiatives.

He expressed optimism that the renewed Tinubu-Shettima partnership would accelerate infrastructure development, human capital investment and inclusive economic growth if returned to office in 2027.
The lawmaker prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom and protection for both President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima as they continue to provide leadership for the country.

Katung further reaffirmed his support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket and called on Nigerians to rally behind the administration in its efforts to build a more united, peaceful and prosperous nation.
