PRP National Vice Chairman Olajide Epe Quits Party Ahead of 2027 Elections

Wolimoh Olajide Epe, the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) National Vice Chairman for the South West, has resigned from the party, citing concerns over its lack of national relevance and political direction.

In a resignation letter addressed to PRP National Chairman Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Epe explained that his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and stakeholders.

He stressed that the move was not taken hastily but was the result of long deliberations about the party’s future.

Epe, who has served the PRP in various roles including committee member, National Youth Leader, and later Vice Chairman, expressed gratitude for the opportunities he had within the party.

However, he argued that the PRP had failed to evolve into a competitive national force, noting that many supporters had grown frustrated with its inability to build momentum across the country.

He further criticized the party for drifting away from active political engagement, claiming it now functions more as a forum for discussions than a platform for contesting elections and influencing governance.

“I sincerely hope the leadership of the PRP will reflect on these observations and take the necessary steps to reposition the party for greater national relevance and inclusiveness,” Epe stated.
