Proceeds From The Security Trust Fund By The Northern States Should Be Used For Two Purposes -Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has said the Security Trust Fund set up by the Northern States is a welcome development and should have been created a long time ago. He said the money from the fund should only be used to fight insecurity and support security personnel.

He the statement in a post on his verified X page on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

According to Sani, the money from the Security Trust Fund should be used for only two purposes. He said it should be used to buy drones, arms, and ammunition for security forces to fight and defeat bandits and terrorists in Northern Nigeria.

He also said part of the fund should be used to provide welfare packages for security personnel who risk or lose their lives while protecting the region. Sani stressed that the money should not be used for any other purpose.
