Pro-Tinubu group rargets 4 million votes in Southeast, plans ‘booth army’ for 2027 elections

The Southeast chapter of Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN) has said it will deploy a 50-man “Booth Army” to every polling unit in the zone and is targeting four million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The group announced the plan on Thursday, July 9, 2026, during a world press conference in Owerri, Imo state.

Deputy National Leader for Southeast, Mazi Franklin Ngoforo, at the press conference said the deployment would focus on voter mobilisation and vote protection.

“This is not a symbolic gesture. It is a serious, disciplined, grassroots deployment whose mandate is two-fold: the mobilisation of voters for President Tinubu, and the protection of the mandate that Ndigbo will cast on election day,” Ngoforo told reporters.

“We have seen too many elections in this country where the will of the people was expressed at the polling unit only to be distorted somewhere between the booth and the collation center. That will not happen under our watch in the Southeast.”

According to RHGN, its state, senatorial, local government and ward structures in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo were already in place and fully staffed.

The group which said it would inaugurate the booth teams in the coming weeks, also announced the immediate creation of campus wings in tertiary institutions and market wings in major markets across the five states.

Ngoforo described the four-million-vote target as realistic, not rhetorical.

“This is not a boast. It is a target set by leaders who know precisely what structure they command and precisely what our people believe,” he said.

RHGN linked its campaign to what it called concrete gains for the Southeast under the Tinubu administration as Ngoforo listed the push for an additional state in the zone, the advanced stage of state police implementation, increased FAAC allocations to states, implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act, and the establishment as well as funding of the South East Development Commission.

He also cited ongoing federal road projects including the Enugu/Makurdi road, Enugu/Onitsha Expressway, and Enugu–Umuahia highway.

On security, the group said federal collaboration with Southeast governors had reduced the impact of sit-at-home orders.

“Markets that once shut their gates in fear now open through the week. Peace is not yet perfect, and we will not insult your intelligence by claiming otherwise. But the trajectory is unmistakable, and it points towards recovery,” Ngoforo said.

The Southeast chapter said its structure followed the movement’s national launch by National Leader Hon. Calistus Anyanwu in Abuja two weeks ago, as Ngoforo stressed that RHGN was built “from the ward up” and not as a “press release organisation.”

He called on traditional rulers, market leaders, professionals, clergy and youths in Igboland to assess the administration’s record ahead of 2027.

“This is not the season to be by-standers in a government that has, in word and in deed, demonstrated that it means well for our people,” he said.

“Let 2027 be remembered as the year our people spoke with one voice, in defense of a government that finally spoke for us,” he concluded.
