Prince Audu Abubakar varsity withdraws 27 students over poor performance

The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has approved the withdrawal of 27 students for poor academic performance and failure to register for two consecutive semesters, in line with the institution’s academic regulations.

This was contained in a statement issued Monday by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Uredo Omale, noting that the decision was reached at the university’s 166th Regular Senate Meeting held on July 29, 2026, following the consideration of a report by the Results Verification Committee, which reviewed the academic standing of students across faculties and departments.

The affected students were drawn from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery.

Those withdrawn on account of poor academic performance include James Isaiah, Alih Hameedat Ugbedo-Ojo, Isah Abubakar Anaha, Ekele Faruk Joseph, Peter Mercy Iye, Isah Sediq, Opaluwa Achimugu, Idris Husseina, Zakari Abdullahi Abdullahi, Unekwu Priscilla Ochoniya and Prince Mathew Victor.

Similarly, students withdrawn for failure to register for two consecutive semesters include Moses Omachoko Cornelius, Ujah Stephanie Uyojo, Reuben John Usman, Egah Timothy, Sumaila Tenimu, Abubakar Aliqahhar, Afolayan Emmanuel Temidayo, Bamokwu Usman, Yusuf Nafisah Opeyemi, Alabi Moses Kolawole, Ilemona Maria Attah, Nurudeen Muhammed Salihu, Abubakar Muhammed Awwal, Unwujo Habibat, Noah Ojonanyi Shedrach and Semion Praise.

The vice-chancellor of the university and chairman of Senate, Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended members of the Results Verification Committee for their diligence and objectivity in upholding academic standards.
