The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Kehinde Makinde, popularly known as Pastor Kenny, in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly defrauding 18 fellowship members of ₦2.5 million under the guise of arranging a government-sponsored pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed the arrest in a statement on Monday, noting that detectives tracked Makinde for four months before apprehending him on August 3, 2026.

According to investigations, Makinde promised each victim ₦2 million in addition to the pilgrimage, while also exploiting unsuspecting worshippers across Ogun, Oyo, and Osun States through claims of “spiritual deliverance.”

Babaseyi said the suspect remains in custody as authorities work to identify more victims and accomplices involved in the scheme.
