The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Abubakar Musa over the alleged killing of 30-year-old Nathaniel Yusuf in Jambutu Ward, Yola North Local Government Area.

Police said the suspect was arrested after the deceased’s sister, Grace Yusuf, reported at the Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters that her brother had been attacked.

Officers who responded to the report rescued Yusuf and rushed him to the Specialist Hospital in Jimeta for treatment. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

According to preliminary police findings, Yusuf suffered multiple fractures to both legs, his right hand and head after he was allegedly beaten with a stick. He was later confirmed dead by doctors while receiving treatment.

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabiru Umar Hassan, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case and ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspect.

Police said Yusuf’s body has been deposited in the hospital morgue for an autopsy, while investigations are ongoing.

The command also urged residents to remain law-abiding and continue providing useful information to support criminal investigations.
