Osun Poll: APC Won’t Rush to Congratulate Adeleke – Campaign DG

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign in Osun State, Oluwole Oke, has said the party will not be pressured into congratulating Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15 election.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News on Monday, Oke stated that the APC was conducting a thorough review of the electoral process and results before deciding on its next steps.

He noted that while President Bola Tinubu had already congratulated Adeleke after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the results, the campaign team on the ground was still assessing the process.

“We won’t be under any sort of pressure to easily reach out to congratulate Senator Ademola Adeleke,” Oke said.

“We do not agree with the declaration of INEC. That’s our position for now. We believe he did not score the highest valid votes.”

INEC declared Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, the winner with 511,067 votes. The APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, polled 444,815 votes.
