Osun 2026: Suspended workers vow to vote against Adeleke

Suspended workers by the administration of governor Ademola Adeleke have trooped out to declare support for the governoship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday election in Osun state.

They carried placards of various inscriptions such as: “OYES for AMBO,” “Sacked health workers for AMBO,” “suspended LG workers for AMBO,” among others.

Led by the president of concerned Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), Comrade Tirimisiyu Adekunle, the group vowed to deliver their votes to APC.

“We can see that people are not forced to come out, they came out because they believe for the welfare of the staff, that we are expecting Oyebamiji can really give it to us, and APC can give it to us.

“The composition of these people here, majority of them here are sacked, the current government can not tolerate opposition, and they live purely on propaganda. And that is why we said, Adeleke government must go. What can I say more? We are not thugs.

“He doesn’t tolerate opposition, and let me bring you back to issue when Oyetola was trying to contest for the second time, we have a man with staff, who openly declared support for PDP then. Some of them are presently under his government.

“Oyetola has never sacked anybody. But here we are today, if you have a relation to APC, he doesn’t care whether you are related to him or not. Because in country law, there is something they call relative party. There is no way you can do without your relatives.

“You will have sympathy for your party, or your relatives. We have sympathy for this man, and we believe in what he can do.

 “Secondly, on the issue of autonomy, we are local government staffs, we want to give kudos to Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving us autonomy of local government. For those people who are lettered, you know what it means to be autonomous.

“For the entire grassroots, there will be faster development, and we staff, we have our own history, and betterment to live also. That is why we said, we need freedom, and we can never mortgage our freedom.

“Majority of the people that are present here are suspended, some are sacked, These teachers are sacked, and we are all civil servants.

“We expect him that politics should be a game, It’s not a do or die affair here. And enough of this propaganda. They are liars. But we are in charge of fact and data. I’m an accountant, I’m an auditor. I know what is coming in on monthly basis from Abuja, before and now. And there’s no way if we want to appraise the performance. You have to consider the inflow, the outflow. What is the value for that outflow.

Oyebamiji is eminently qualified to lead us to the promised land. There is an assurance that people are going to be re-engaged back to their services. And whenever this man promises, he fulfills his promise. That is why we call him the best Omoluabi of our time.This is the way to go. My people, don’t have doubt about Bola Oyebamiji. We are contributing our quota and I want to assure you he has won,” Adekunle said.
