NPA records 16 ships, expects 28 more arrivals

The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, says no fewer than 16 ships have arrived at the Lekki, Tin-Can Island and Apapa ports in Lagos, waiting to discharge petroleum products, food items and other cargoes.

The NPA disclosed this in its daily Shipping Position on Wednesday in Lagos.

It said that the vessels were laden with petrol, bulk fertiliser, bulk wheat, aviation fuel, bulk urea, bulk sugar, diesel, general cargo and other consignments.

The authority also said 28 additional ships carrying petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at the Apapa, Lekki and Tin-Can Island ports between July 22 and July 26.

It stated that the inbound vessels are laden with bulk wheat, containers, fresh fish, petrol, trucks, fuel oil, diesel, crude oil, aviation fuel, general cargo and other containerised cargo.

According to it, 21 other ships are currently discharging containers, petrol, aviation fuel, crude oil, bulk fertiliser, bulk gypsum and bulk at the ports.

Others included were gas, diesel, bulk wheat, bulk sugar, bulk urea, fresh fish, general cargo and base oil.
