The Association of Northern Nigeria Students (ANNS) has passed a vote of confidence in the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd.), saying his leadership has demonstrated the capacity and commitment required to confront Nigeria’s growing security challenges.
The students’ body, in a statement signed by its president, Comrade Baba Mahadi, said General Musa had remained committed to the peace, unity and security of the country, while describing his record of service as evidence of patriotism and dedication to national duty.
ANNS said the minister had continued to demonstrate courage and responsibility in addressing issues affecting national security, adding that Nigerians should recognise and support the efforts of security institutions rather than undermining them.
“General Musa has consistently demonstrated courage, patriotism, and an unwavering commitment to the peace, unity, and security of our nation,” the association said.
The group added that Nigeria’s security challenges require collective responsibility, while urging citizens to adopt objective positions on national issues and support lawful efforts to protect the country.
It further called on Nigerians to remain peaceful and allow due process to prevail in resolving issues surrounding national security and the operations of security agencies.
