NNL Chairman George Aluo Loses Mother Aged 90
The Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, has announced the death of his mother, Mrs. Ezinne Benedictte Aluo, who passed away at the age of 90.
In a statement issued on his behalf by Nicholas Akujobi on Monday, the family said Mrs. Aluo died peacefully, describing her passing as a “glorious exit” and expressing gratitude to God for her life.
“It is with a heart of thanksgiving and total submission to the will of God that I announce the glorious exit of Mrs. Ezinne Benedictte Aluo, the beloved mother of Mr. George Aluo, Chairman of the NNL, at the age of 90 years,” the statement read.
The statement added: “Mama has fought a good fight of faith. May God Almighty forgive her shortcomings and crown her with the crown of glory.”

The family also disclosed that details of her burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
The news has drawn sympathy from members of Nigeria’s football community, with many expected to pay tribute to the late matriarch in the coming days.
