NIS Ends Third-Party Processing for Nigerian Visas in US

• Applicants must now submit visa requests directly at Nigerian embassy and consulates

• Immigration Service discontinues Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services) with immediate effect

• Embassy in Washington, DC, and consulates in New York and Atlanta to handle applications

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has ended the use of a third-party service provider for processing Nigerian visa applications in the United States, directing applicants to submit their requests directly to Nigerian diplomatic missions.

The new arrangement takes immediate effect and requires all travellers seeking Nigerian visas in the US to lodge their applications at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC, or the country’s consulates in New York and Atlanta.

The decision was announced on Thursday in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the NIS, Akinsola Akinlabi.

According to the statement, the service of Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), which previously managed Nigeria’s visa application and submission centres across the United States, has been discontinued.

The immigration agency, however, did not disclose the reason for ending the partnership.

“The Nigeria Immigration Service has disengaged the services of the third-party visa application operator in the United States with immediate effect,” the statement said.

It assured prospective applicants that the Nigerian embassy and consulates have made adequate arrangements to ensure uninterrupted visa application, processing and issuance services.

The Service also advised applicants to rely on its official communication platforms, as well as those of Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in the United States, for updates on visa application procedures and other related information.

The NIS reiterated its commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring a more efficient and seamless visa application process for travellers seeking entry into Nigeria.
