Nigerian Army, Police strengthen security partnership in Cross River

The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force have strengthened their longstanding security partnership.

This follows a meeting between the Commander of 13 Brigade, Brigadier General P.O. Alimikhena, and the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ajo Ordue, when the latter paid a courtesy visit to the former on Wednesday.

Alimikhena described the Nigeria Police Force as a long-standing strategic partner in maintaining peace and security.

He expressed the Brigade’s commitment to further strengthening the existing cordial relationship and operational partnership.

The commander spoke when CP Ordue visited him at his office in Calabar to discuss security issues.

On his part, Ordue reiterated his command’s commitment to building strategic security alliances and deploying a coordinated, intelligence-driven approach towards ensuring a safer and more secure Cross River State.

Ordue stressed that stronger collaboration among security agencies remains critical to proactive and intelligence-led policing, particularly in tackling violent crime, cultism, communal tensions, arms proliferation and other emerging threats.

The engagement between the two commanders focused on strengthening intelligence sharing, joint operations and coordinated responses to emerging security threats, with both reaffirming the importance of sustained inter-agency synergy in protecting lives and property across the state.
