Nigerian Air Force Launches Precision Strikes, Destroys Terrorist Enclave in Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counter-terrorism campaign with fresh airstrikes that destroyed a terrorist hideout and killed several fighters in Borno State.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operation was conducted on July 10 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area.
The strikes followed credible intelligence reports of renewed terrorist activity.Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before precision strikes were executed.
“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” the statement read.
The NAF said the operation further weakened the terrorists’ ability to regroup or move freely, describing it as another significant success in the ongoing campaign.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended the personnel involved for their professionalism.
He reaffirmed the military’s commitment to ensuring terrorists have “no safe haven and no opportunity to recover their capabilities,” stressing that the Armed Forces remain focused on consolidating gains in the fight against insurgency nationwide.
