National Assembly set for 3rd open week, to hold national security roundtable

The National Assembly Tuesday announced that all is set for its Open Week, the third in a series of such sessions by the 10th Assembly.

This edition has been fixed for between 14 and 16 July, 2026.

A press statement by the special adviser on Media and Publicity to Speaker of the House of Representatives, AbbasTajudeen, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, stated that the speaker made the announcement on his social media handles this weekend.

It said the theme for this year’s Open Week is ‘Three Years of the 10th Assembly: Advancing Transparency, Inclusion, and Reform?’

It “reflects not just our journey but our commitment to building a legislature that is accessible, accountable, and responsive to every Nigerian,” the Speaker said.

He continued that “A parliament that listens earns the trust of the people. A parliament that opens its doors strengthens democracy. That conviction inspired the birth of the National Assembly Open Week.

“We will convene a Legislative Business Breakfast to deepen collaboration between the legislature and the private sector on policies that drive economic growth, investment, and job creation.

“We will also host a National Security Roundtable, bringing together critical stakeholders to exchange ideas and chart practical legislative pathways for addressing the nation’s evolving security challenges.”
