As part of efforts to boost Nigeria’s domestic growth through small businesses, the Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) in collaboration with Zamkah Technologies will engage small entrepreneurs with the view to prepare them to be able to transform businesses into global brands.

National President of the association, Chief Solomon Daniel Vongfa, told journalists that the 35th national convention of NASSI slated for December 1, 2026 in Abuja is a deliberate platform to interact with entrepreneurs of small businesses, cross-fertilise ideas, find areas of collaboration such that will further deepen the calls for stronger economy that will reduce over dependence on government.

NASSI is a non-profit organisation founded in 1978 to support and promote micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria.

The association strives to open up access to finance for entrepreneurs, help members secure funding, loans, and grants through partnerships with institutions like the Bank of Industry.

Dr Vongfa said the convention and interaction will equally offer the entrepreneurs the opportunity to forge the right alliances that will unlock capacity building opportunities for staff through training programmes, workshops, and business seminars.

“As an organisation with key function of advocating government policies that makes it easier to run a small business in Nigeria, the convention would explore possible avenues that will allow for business models that suit businesses and make them competitive,” he said.

According to him, one of the key responsibilities of NASSI is also to organise trade fairs and expos to promote local products.

He said the programmes of NASSI align with government’s emphasis and desire to boost local products for both local and foreign consumption.

“NASSI has taken bold steps in this regard and we are determined to seeing that Nigeria remains not merely the giant of Africa on paper but in reality. And for us to truly merit it, we must double our efforts on domestic production, quality of products and ensure that entrepreneurs have access to financing and are mentally equipped,” he said.
