My Husband Gave No Support, I Was Deeply Depressed; My Aged Mom Watched Me Suffer Until 2022 -James

Deborah James has admitted attempting suicide twice during her marriage due to severe depression stemming from her husband’s emotional abandonment during her health crisis and financial struggles that he refused to help address.

Speaking on the Talk-to-B podcast, James described reaching such depths of despair that she saw death as her only escape from the disappointment of discovering that the man who promised unwavering support had become her greatest source of pain.

According to James, she eventually lost her elderly mother in 2022 partly due to the stress of watching her youngest daughter suffer in an abusive marriage, adding to the trauma and guilt that drove her suicidal ideation during that dark period.

Deborah James said: “All of those times after that we entered 2021, it was, you know, the challenges became, it increased with the health challenge I was going through. It was not easy for me. You know, no financial support coming from him. In all the load, every time, every now and there, there was no peace. It got to an extent that I went to meet their pastor and I reported the issue to him. I was depressed cuz even then I attempted suicide twice. For what exactly? I was going through a lot, a lot. That the person who was supposed to be supportive at that moment was not coming forth. You know, such expectation is, how will I, what English will I use? It’s disappointing. And my mom is old. My mom is aged. I lost my mom in 2022 eventually because of all of this…....
