A viral video capturing a showdown between a tenant and his landlady has gone viral across Nigerian social media.

The video shows the tenant and a female neighbor frantically scooping floodwater out of their apartment. While they were still struggling with the situation, the landlady arrived at the compound to demand her rent.

Outraged by the timing, the aggrieved tenant charged at the landlady, fiercely questioning why she would demand payment for a house currently submerged in water.

The video has divided netizens online. One group argues that the tenant remains legally obligated to pay his rent regardless of the flooding. However, others slammed the landlady, arguing that she lacked emotional intelligence and was highly insensitive for demanding money while her tenants were in distress.
