The spouse of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Amina Titi-Abubakar, has charged girls to mobilise their people and to actively take part within the 2027 common elections.
Titi-Abubakar, whose husband can be the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the election, made the decision on the inauguration of the Diamond Ladies in Politics; a girls group within the ADC, in Abuja on Friday.
She mentioned, “When girls get a voice in politics, insurance policies change. Politics isn’t just elections and get together workplaces. Politics is how assets are shared. Who will get training? Who will get healthcare, jobs, safety? If you aren’t on the desk, you must depart for the evening.
“Women are greater than 50% in Nigeria. Over 47% of those totals are registered as voters. That is the ladies. You can see the facility of ladies. That determine was given in 2023. Ironically, girls within the National Assembly are lower than 5 per cent. No lady governor within the 2023 elections.
She continued, “We have a vote, but not yet the votes. Why women must be in politics; we are the best managers. Yes, in our homes, in our communities, and in Nigeria as a whole. We prioritise people. We prioritise education for our children, health, and family. We reduce corruption.”
