appointment as Nigeria’s ambassador to the nation.

 

In an X submit on Tuesday, Omokri stated José Manuel Briseño
Flores, chargé d’affaires of the embassy of Mexico in Abuja, delivered the

protocol on the ministry of international affairs.

He stated the approval covers his appointment as Nigeria’s
ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Mexico, with concurrent
accreditation to Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

“To God be the glory, the Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy
of the United Mexican States in Abuja, Mr José Manuel Briseño Flores, right this moment in
Abuja delivered the agrément from the Government of the United Mexican States
accepting me,” Omokri stated.

The approval ended eight months of uncertainty over Omokri’s
diplomatic posting.

In March, President Bola Tinubu authorised the posting of 65
ambassadors-designate and excessive commissioners to their respective nations,
assigning Omokri to Mexico.

However, his posting was pending, with the Mexican
authorities not instantly granting the required diplomatic approval.

In August, the ministry stated Mexico and Japan had been among the many
nations but to speak formal acceptance of two excellent ambassadorial
appointments.

The ministry stated it was participating the related authorities
and expressed confidence that the excellent approvals can be conveyed in
due course.
