Corinne Arnold, Noem’s mother, spoke with the Daily Mail from her home next to the family ranch where Noem and Bryon raised their three children. She said the split had felt inevitable for a while, telling the outlet that the family had already braced themselves for the news.

Arnold said her daughter first opened up about the decision in late spring, shortly after photos emerged showing Bryon, 56, wearing exaggerated prosthetic breasts while messaging with someone involved in fetish content online.

It remains unclear whether Noem, who has reportedly been linked to a long running affair with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, had a change of heart at any point since making that decision. No formal divorce paperwork has been filed publicly as of now, as per a report from New York Post.

That non-answer, delivered with Bryon, her husband of 34 years, sitting in the same hearing room, was widely interpreted as a tacit admission that the affair had happened.

Despite the widespread speculation, Arnold defended her daughter, insisting that Noem would never have been unfaithful. She said that isn’t how she raised her children and pointed out that Lewandowski has his own family, including young kids, as reasons she doesn’t believe the rumors.
